Bird breeding is a much more difficult proposition than breeding mammals, and requires a lot of work and care. A breeding cage is larger than the standard cage, and has a pull-out divider in the center. The size of breeder cage you choose to purchase will be dependent on the kind of bird you are breeding. Tiny parrotlets will require much less room than cockatoos. As with ordinary cages, you must make certain that there is enough space for the birds, and that the mesh is not large enough for your birds to get their heads trapped in it.
