Lovebirds are some of the most pleasant and long-lasting birds in the parrot species. It is important for these cages to be made of quality materials and assembled correctly to be able to hold two birds.
How Big Should a Lovebird Cage Be? Luckily, lovebird cages do not have to be huge cages. Most lovebirds grow to only about six to six and a half inches and no more than fifty or sixty grams in mass. They don't grow much over the span of their lifetimes, so if you are able to fit two lovebirds in a cage when they are younger, you will probably be able to use that same cage throughout the span of their life. Lovebird cages don't have to be huge, but they do have to be large enough to easily fit two lovebirds, as these birds are usually sold in pairs. It is important to think long and hard about your purchase before you actually invest in lovebirds, as they are a huge commitment. They live extremely long, sometimes as long as 20 years so those who invest in lovebirds, cages, and other accessories should understand just what it is that they are getting into when doing so.
Let Your Lovebird Fly Free Other parrots may require larger bird cages than lovebirds would. They need more room to move about and many of them even tend to be much larger birds. One of the reasons why they require a substantially smaller space is because these are the type of birds that would be able to flit and fly around your home if you wanted them to. They are great for this; lovebirds can leave their cages and sit around the home perched atop a doorway or even on your shoulder. They can be potty trained, too so you don't have to worry about them leaving droppings anywhere but their cages and other designated areas throughout the home that have been covered in newspaper if there are any.
Have a Friend for Life in a Lovebird Most good lovebird cages are going to cost a pretty penny, so it is important to be completely vested in your commitment to them. After a minute, deciding to interact more with them and let them out of their cages is a good idea, but whether or not you do that is completely up to you. Lovebirds make excellent pets. They are beautiful to behold with bright, brilliant colors and they make excellent companions. It is important to provide them with the best possible life that you possibly can. Without proper food, lovebird cages, and accessories lovebirds can easily become sick and possibly even die, so it is up to you to help keep them happy and alive.
